This year it was so exciting to purchase and decorate our own Christmas tree and holiday decor. I’ve grown up with a real Christmas tree every year in my family home, and although it smells delicious, I think I’m going to appreciate the easy set-up and take-down of our fake tree from Canadian Tire.
Canadian Tire shocked me with the amount of options they have for Christmas decor. They had numerous trees to choose from but the most exciting part was picking the colour scheme. The aisles are full of colour coordinated bulbs and ornaments. I contained myself with the desire for colourful everything, and we went instead of bronze and gold ornaments.
We also stopped by Homesense where I am always overwhelmed with the need to buy one of everything. My main purchase interests were furry throw pillows which I was able to find in addition to some red velvet ones.
This was the first tree I ever decorated myself, so I was thoroughly pleased with the outcome after using twirled gold ribbon and horizontally gold garland.
One of my favourite set of ornaments from Canadian Tire were the gold diamond and prism pieces that matched perfectly with our Umbra prisms already on the wall (previous blog post on these).
Our gold unicorn has easily become our gold reindeer with the addition of these dollarama antlers. And of course this fun Falalalala sign had to come home with us, thank you again Canadian Tire!
The easiest and most fun decor piece for our coffee table cost less than $20. I used a glass cover from Homesense and tucked in a gold glass tree as well as wire lights purchased from Canadian Tire. I hid the on and off switch in a decorative gold jar. IT is such a cozy accent piece to our large Christmas tree!
Feeling so festive and happy with our Christmas set-up. After all, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!
